Looking back, he realizes that his rural upbringing, including working with his father on projects around the farm and at his father’s shop where he was a steamfitter uniquely prepared him to understand both the biologic and mechanical aspects of the world we live in. He has said, “I just can’t imagine a more interesting career than the one I have been blessed with. I love what I do.”
